Guest Lecture at IIM, Lucknow:
Educational Institutions should act as 'light house' to guide younger generation

Lucknow, 18 August : Founder of City Montessori School and renowned educationist Dr Jagdish Gandhi while speaking as the Chief Guest of a ceremony at Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow said that schools and higher education institutions of present time are focussing mainly on material education which is neither sufficient nor can it shape the future generation to face the challenges of modern era. The educational institutions must inculcate character, moral and value based divine education with material education to enable them to be fit for a modern society. As the specially invited Guest Speaker, Dr Gandhi has been speaking today on the topic 'Social Responsibility of a Modern Institute to Develop Human Resource' at IIM. It may be noted here that IIM, Lucknow had organized a five-day Management Development Programme (MDP) for the senior rank officers of the Education Department of Bihar in which Dr Gandhi has been invited as the Guest Speaker.

 

On the occasion, Dr Gandhi delivered a thought provoking speech and especially emphasized that modern age education institutions should act as the light house of society which is the foundation of a healthy and good society and the centre of formation of a healthy younger generation. Dr Gandhi said that its the social responsibility of modern education institutions that in association with family and society they should endeavour to build ideal citizens suitable for the current age needs and moral, character and divine education are inevitable for it. He further stated that if education institutions defer from this duty then they are ignoring their social liability.

It is worth mentioning there that a staunch supporter of world unity and peace, renowned educationist Dr Jagdish Gandhi has been toiling to establish World Unity and Peace for the past five decades. Dr Gandhi has dedicated himself to induce the high ideals of values, human welfare, global fraternity and devotion to God, not only in CMS students but in all the children of the world. Due to Dr Gandhi's tireless efforts world famous City Montessori School has become a Guinness Book of World Records holder and the recipient of UNESCO Prize for Peace Education in 2002. He has been exposing his educational experience of 50 years at various programmes held in India and abroad including United Nations (UNO, New York), UNESCAP (Thailand), UNESCO, The Jubilee School (Jordan), Brahma Kumari University (Mount Abu), Symbiosis Institute of Management (Pune), Karorimal College (New Delhi), Club of Lucknow etc.

For his unparalleled services to the world society, Dr Gandhi has been awarded several national and international level awards and honours and on 19 August 2009 also he will be honoured with 'Outstanding Achievement Award' at IMRT auditorium, Vipul Khand, Gomti Nagar. In October, Bakshir State Pedagogical University, Ufa, Russia, has also announced Ph.D. degree to Dr Gandhi.
