Lucknow, September 10 : Apostle of World Unity and World Peace and renowned educationist, Dr Jagdish Gandhi, Founder of City Montessori School, Lucknow is being honoured with "Honorary Doctorate Degree" by a well-known Russian University "Bakshir State Pedagogical University (BSPU), Ufa, Russia" at a grand honouring ceremony on 5th October 2009. This information was given by the Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma. Shri Sharma said that through this prestigious Doctorate Degree, Dr Gandhi will be honoured for his 50 years of continuous and dedicated efforts for the cause of child rights, world unity and world peace at international level. Shri Sharma said that Dr Gandhi's being honoured with the most prestigious Doctorate Degree is not only an honour for one single person, it is a matter of great pride and honour for the city of Lucknow and the state of UP. Dr Gandhi's entire life is dedicated to the noble cause of education of children and this honour will give a further momentum to his efforts in safeguarding the future of the world's two billion children and creation of a New World Order. He said that Dr Gandhi will be leaving for Russia on 2nd October 2009.

Mr Sharma informed that for the last five decades world famous educationist Dr Jagdish Gandhi has been working untiringly to establish world unity and peace in the world through education. Dr Gandhi has been working with full dedication and determination to imbue the high ideals of values, services to mankind, global fraternity and devotion to God not only in the CMS students but in the students of our country and the world. The world famous City Montessori School holds an envious record in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest school of the world by pupils in a single city, its current strength exceeding 37,000 pupils on roll, and in the year 2002 it received the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education as a result of relentless peace efforts of Dr Gandhi. Mr Sharma said that Dr Gandhi has been awarded several national and international honours and recognition and now it is the famous Russian University which is honouring him with Ph.D. and recognizing his services for world unity.

Mr Sharma said that the CMS family feels proud that Bakshir State Pedagogical University (BSPU), Ufa, Russia has announced to honour the world famous Indian educationist Dr Jagdish Gandhi with Ph.D. degree. The University has requested Dr Gandhi to be personally present on 5 October 2009 in the university to receive the degree in a special ceremony. The university in a letter addressed to Dr Gandhi, wrote, 'We are pleased to inform you that this university has decided to confer Ph.D. Degree to you and it is for your 50 years of work towards mankind through education for securing the future of present generation and the children yet-to-be born'.

Mr Sharma said that Pedagogical University of Russia is very impressed with Dr Gandhi's thoughts for establishing 'Effective International Law' to promote peace in the world and organizing 'International Conference of Chief Justices of the World' and 28 world level international educative programmes. Mr Sharma further said that this Russian University is impressed by the ideal of 'Jai Jagat' and 'Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam', the pivot of the educational system of City Montessori School, the holder of famous Guinness Book of World Records and honoured with UNESCO Prize for Peace Education-2002.

Mr Sharma said that during its 51 years of establishment, CMS has become the leader of world unity due to the efforts of Dr Jagdish Gandhi's sacrifices and devotion. Mr Sharma informed that when City Montessori School, Lucknow was founded 50 years ago, it had only five children and two teachers Jagdish Gandhi and Bharti Gandhi but now this school has over 2000 teachers and over 37000 students and has become the greatest school in the world. This is the unique school which apart from imparting academic knowledge to the students, guides them to become the light of society by teaching values, divine and ethical knowledge to the children.
