we strongly oppose homosexuality

Lucknow, 5 July : No religion of the world supports homosexual behaviour and the leaders of all faith have termed it as unnatural. The Hon'ble High Court of Delhi's recent judgement of legalizing homosexuality despite this opposition is like a serious blow on youth and society and therefore, is absolutely unacceptable. These views were unanimously expressed by the leaders of various religious faiths at CMS Gomti Nagar auditorium today. These leaders of various religions viz Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Parsi, Jain, Boudha, Baha'i, Christian etc. had assembled here to take part in a special discussion organized by City Montessori School to put forth their views on the Delhi High Court's judgement of legalizing homosexual behaviour. Unanimously criticizing the Delhi High Court's judgement, the leaders of all religions faiths urged the Supreme Court of India, Central Government and all state governments to intervene and review this judgement so as to prevent the youth from being carried away and the entire social set up being broken up.

Various religious leaders present on the occasion were Maulana Khalid Rashid, Maulana Kasal Kafil Ashraf, Maulana Syydur Rahman Azmi, Principal, Nadwa College; Maulana Saklain Abidi; Maulana Abbas Irshad Naqvi; Maulana Yasoob Abbas, Spokesperson, All India Shia Personal Law Board; Maulana Shahfazle Rahman Waizi; Maulana Nidahat Azmi; Maulana Syyed Shah Fazlul Mannan; Maulana Abdul Ali Faruqui; Maulana Abdul Karim Faruqui; Maulana Farookh Alvi; Bishop Gerald J. Mathias etc. After the discussions these leaders of various faiths met media persons at a press conference and put forth their views on the topic.

Talking to media, Maulana Khalid Rashid said that this law will diminish our culture and finish the generations. Maulana Kafil Ashraf said that CMS not only provides high level education but it also raises its voice against soical happenings. he said that the God has made woman for man, she-pigeon for he-pigeon and she-monkey for he-monkey. The judgemnet given by Delhi High Court is against the law of nature. No religion permits to marry a man to man and a woman to woman. I strongly oppose this verdict on behalf of the citizens of India. Maulana Sayydur Rahman Azmi, Principal, Nadwa College said that the Founder of CMS Dr Jagdish Gandhi simplified our work by expressing his disagreement over this law. He strongly admitted that the judgement of Delhi High Court is not acceptable to either humanity or culture or religion. Spokesperson of All India Shia Personal Law Board Maulana Yasoob Abbas said that homosexuality is a deformity of mind and heart, which can never be accepted or justified. Maulana Abbas Irshad Naqvi said that homosexual relations will crush all the relations that we own. Catholic Bishop of Lucknow Father Gerald J. Mathias said that God created Adam and Eve to create the world and the decision of court will end both the humans and humanity.

Follower of Baha'i faith, Renowned educationist and Founder of City Montessori School, Dr Jagdish Gandhi, who was also present at the press conference said that the first knowledge that God send in the form of Bhagwat Geeta talks about a society based upon justice. Where there is justice, there is Godly society and where there is injustice, there is ungodly civilization. He said that all laws should be enacted and interpreted keeping in mind the exigencies of the age because a law which overlooks the demands of the age can never be in the favour of the humanity. Dr Gandhi said that this judgement of High Court of Delhi on homosexuality is being criticized by everyone and all people of all sects are terming it as unfortunate.

Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari Om Sharma said this judgement can become a cause of break down for society and families. Keeping this difficult situation in mind CMS had convened this special discussion session of the leaders of various religious faiths. He informed that City Montessori School has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India requesting him to review the Delhi High Court judgement.
