CMS achievements, three students qualify IAS

— General opinion of CMS
students selected in IAS
Lucknow, May 7: With their merits and
talents CMS students have yet again added new
chapter to the 50 years of golden achievements
of City Montessori School. Like previous years,
3 meritorious students of City Montessori School
have brought laurels to the city of Lucknow by
being selected in the most prestigious services
of the country, IAS. In the IAS examination
results announced recently, three CMS
ex-students namely Ajay Gupta (27th Rank),
Sonali Giri (42nd Rank) and Neha Giri
(Provisional) have been selected. Neha Giri's
rank has not been declared yet as her name
figures in the waiting list. Sonali Giri, an
ex-student of CMS Aliganj, who has studied here
from Montessori to class XII attributed the
credit of her success to CMS saying that it was
the CMS atmosphere which actually inspired her.
Sonali met media persons at a press conference
held here today along with the Founder of
school, Dr Jagdish Gandhi and her parents and
discussed in detail about her success besides
expressing her gratitude towards all those who
have contributed in her success through their
invariable support.
Replying to the press reporters' queries, Sonali
attributed the credit of her success to her
parents, CMS Founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi and CMS
teachers saying that while any school can impart
textual knowledge, CMS is a different school as
it imbibes in its students such values as
balanced knowledge, spiritual perception and far
sightedness which are the pre-requisites for an
examination like IAS. Sonali said that
she has learnt from the inspiring speeches of Dr Jagdish Gandhi that we should not hesitate from
dreaming as it is the dreams which urge us to
continue with hardwork in order to realize them.
When asked what she plans after this selection,
she said that during her service period she
would try to return to the society the enormous
love, affection and motivation which she has
received from her family, school and society and
which has helped her in securing such a
prestigious position.
Addressing the media persons, Sonali said that
she would forever remain indebted to her mother
for her contribution. She said that her father,
being a police man had to stay in different
cities but her mother remained in Lucknow for
the education of the children and always tried
that the education of Sonali and her two sisters
continues without break. She said that her
father Mr Sugreev Giri too motivated her to
prepare for IAS examination and with his
guidance she put in great efforts and prepared
for the exam all through the year. Replaying to
a question about the contribution of her
teachers in her success, Sonali said that she
still remembers her maths teachers Mr Pawan and
Mr Nageshwar, Chemistry teacher Ms Sur, Physics
teacher Mr T P Singh and English teacher Mrs
Pankaj for the knowledge and efficiency she has
achieved in their respective subjects. She
specially thanked her Principal, Mrs Gauri
Khanna who provided her not just a healthy
environment for studies but personal guidance as
well.
She also answered questions on her family
background saying that they are three sisters,
all of whom have obtained education from
Montessori till ISC in CMS Aliganj. Her father,
an IPS officer is presently posted in Sant Kabir
Nagar as Superintendent of Police while her
mother is a house wife. Her elder sister Amita
Giri who had passed the ISC examination from CMS
Aliganj in 1998 with 91% marks is presently
working as HR officer. Sonali herself had passed
her ISC examination from CMS Aliganj with 91.75%
marks in the year 2000. She had secured 88.4%
marks in ICSE exam. Sonali's younger sister,
Neha Giri had passed the ISC examination in 2002
with 94% marks and ICSE examination in 2000 with
91.6% marks. After ISC Sonali has obtained an
MBA degree while her younger sister Neha had
gone for Electrical Engineering. Neha is in the
waiting list of IAS this year.

congratulated these meritorious students and
said that on the shoulders of such outstanding
students lies the responsibility of making the
society reach great heights of success.
He said that these students are imbued with all
qualities that make an efficient administrative
officer. They have the urge to serve the
humanity and they would bring fame to the
institution from wherever they go. Dr Gandhi
specially congratulated the parents of Ajay
Gupta, Sonali Giri and Neha Giri and said that
CMS teachers are teaching the ancient Indian
value of Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam to their students
and trying to imbibe in them values of world
citizenship. CMS aims at making each student the
light of the world and the pride of the human
race. As a result CMS students achieve new
milestones and spread the light of highest
values in the world. He said that the entire CMS
family is proud of this great success and each
CMS student is feeling elated with achievement.
Dr Gandhi said that another student Ajay
Gupta who has been selected in IAS
could not attend the press conference as he is
presently in Nagpur. However, in his
message sent to CMS he has said that not just he
himself, but his entire family is highly
influenced with the CMS philosophy of the
equality of religions which has motivated him to
such extent that he has resolved to follow it
all through his working life and to make every
effort to bind the society with a cord of unity.
Attributing the credit of his success to his
mother, Ajay said that she has taught him to
regard each problem as a challenge and keep
stepping ahead with courage and attitude. He
said that though his mother hails from the rural
background and is not educated much, she wished
that her son becomes an officer. Ajay is very
happy that he has finally fulfilled his mother's
wish. Dr Gandhi informed that Ajay had passed
the ISC examination in 1997 from CMS Station
Road with 76% marks. This is Ajay's second
success in the IAS. Last year, in 2008, Ajay had
secured 104th rank and this year he is at the
27th. At this point Ajay also recalled the
contributions of his CMS Station Road teachers
Mr Gautam Gupta, Mr Vaish and Mr Rajiv Ranjan.
Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr Hari
Om Sharma informed that CMS students are
creating new milestones of success and
establishing great ideals of humanity each year,
thereby spreading their light in the entire
world. He said that free coaching classes are
held at CMS for IAS, engineering, medical and
other professional examinations. As a result,
CMS students win large number of prizes in
various national and international level
competitions. He informed that the mothers of
these meritorious students will be specially
honoured by being weighed in fruits and flowers
at the grand felicitation ceremony to be held on
29th June.

सी.एम.एस. के स्वर्णिम इतिहास में जुड़ा एक और कीर्तिमान,
तीन छात्रों का हुआ आई.ए.एस. में चयन सी.एम.एस. के वातावरण
से मिली प्रेरणा
–– आई.ए.एस. में चयनित सी.एम.एस. छात्रों की आम राय
लखनऊ, 7 मई। सिटी
मोन्टेसरी स्कूल के मेधावी छात्रों ने इस वर्ष एक बार फिर
अपनी मेधा व प्रतिभा से सी.एम.एस. के पचास वर्षीय स्वर्णिम
इतिहास में एक और कीर्तिमान जोड़ दिया है। पूर्व वर्षों की
भाँति इस वर्ष भी सिटी मोन्टेसरी स्कूल के तीन मेधावी
छात्रों ने देश की सर्वाधिक प्रतिष्ठित आई.ए.एस. परीक्षा
में चयनित होकर लखनऊ का नाम रोशन किया है। इस वर्ष घोषित
हुए आई.ए.एस. परीक्षा परिणाम में सिटी मोन्टेसरी स्कूल के
तीन छात्रों अजय गुप्ता (27वीं रैंक), सोनाली गिरी (42वीं
रैंक) व नेहा गिरी ने चयनित होकर विद्यालय का नाम
गौरवान्वित किया है। नेहा गिरी की रैंक अभी घोषित नहीं हुई
हैं क्योंकि उनका नाम अभी प्रतीक्षा सूची में है।
मॉन्टेसरी से आई.एस.सी. तक सी.एम.एस. अलीगंज की मेधावी
छात्रा रही आई.ए.एस. में चयनित सोनाली गिरी ने अपनी सफलता
का श्रेय सी.एम.एस. को देते हुए कहा कि सी.एम.एस. का
वातावरण ही मेरा प्रेरणास्रोत बना। सोनाली गिरी ने आज यहाँ
आयोजित एक प्रेस कान्ेन्स में अपने विद्यालय के संस्थापक
श्री जगदीश गाँधी एवं अपने माता–पिता के साथ पत्रकारों से
मिली एवं इस अभूतपूर्व सफलता पर विस्तृत चर्चा की।
प्रेस कान्ेन्स में
पत्रकारों के सवालों के जवाब देते हुए सोनाली ने अपनी
सफलता का श्रेय अपने माता–पिता, सी.एम.एस. के संस्थापक
श्री जगदीश गाँधी व सी.एम.एस. शिक्षकों को देते हुए कहा कि
पढ़ाई–लिखाई तो सभी स्कूलों में होती हैं किन्तु आई.ए.एस.
जैसी परीक्षा के सफलता प्राप्त करने के लिए जिस संतुलित
ज्ञान, आत्मिक शक्ति व गहन चिंतन की आवश्यकता पड़ती है वह
उन्हें सी.एम.एस. में पढ़कर ही मिली है। सोनाली ने कहा कि
सी.एम.एस. के संस्थापक श्री जगदीश गाँधी के महान
विचारों ने मुझे यह प्रेरणा शक्ति प्रदान की कि सफलता
प्राप्त करने के लिए सपने देखना मत छोड़ो। यह पूछे जाने पर
कि आई.ए.एस. में चयन के उपरान्त अब वे क्या चाहती हैं,
सोनाली ने कहा कि उनका प्रयास रहेगा कि समाज से, परिवार से
एवं विद्यालय से उन्हें जो अथाह प्रेम, सहयोग एवं प्ररेणा
मिली है और जिसके बदौलत वह इस मुकाम पर पहुँची हैं, वही
प्यार वह समाज को अपने सेवा काल में वापस करने का प्रयत्न
करेंगी।
पत्रकारों से बातचीत करते हुए
सोनाली ने कहा कि मेरी इस सफलता में मेरी माँ ने जो योगदान
दिया है, उसे वह कभी भुला नहीं पायेंगी। सोनाली ने कहा कि
मेरे पिताजी चूँकि भारतीय पुलिस सेवा में हैं एवं
स्थानान्तरण के कारण विभिन्न जिलों में रहे लेकिन मेरी
माताजी हम बहनों की पढ़ाई के कारण लखनऊ में ही रहीं और जो
भी अधिक से अधिक संभव हो सका, उन्होंने पूरा प्रयास किया
कि हमारी पढ़ाई नियमित चलती रहे। सोनाली ने कहा कि हमारे
पिता श्री सुग्रीव गिरी ने सदैव प्रेरित किया कि नियमित
रूप से आई.ए.एस. की तैयारी करें और अपने पिता के
निर्देशानुसार सफलता के लिए पूरे साल कड़ी मेहनत की।
स्कूली पढ़ाई के दौरान शिक्षक–शिक्षिकाओं के योगदान पर
पूछे गये एक सवाल का जवाब देते हुए सोनाली ने अपने
सी.एम.एस. शिक्षकों को याद करते हुए कहा कि गणित के लिए
श्री पवन सर, श्री नागेश्सर सर, रसायन शास्त्र में सुश्री
सूर मैडम, भौतिकी में श्री टी.पी. सिंह सर और अंग्रेजी में
श्रीमती पंकज मैडम को नहीं भुला पाती हैं। उन्होंने
प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती गौरी खन्ना को विशेष रूप से धन्यवाद
दिया जिन्होंने पढ़ाई के लिए स्वस्थ परिवेश के साथ साथ
आत्मीय सहयोग भी दिया।
पारिवारिक पृष्ठिभूमि पर पूछे
गये प्रश्न का जवाब देते हुए सोनाली ने बताया कि वे तीन
बहने हैं एवं तीनों ने मॉन्टेसरी से आई.एस.सी. (कक्षा–12)
तक की शिक्षा सी.एम.एस. अलीगंज में प्राप्त की है। सोनाली
के पिताजी आई.पी.एस. आॅफीसर हैं एवं वर्तमान में संत कबीर
नगर में पुलिस अक्षीक्षक हैं एवं माताजी गृहणी हैं। बड़ी
बहन अमिता गिरी ने वर्ष 1998 में आई.एस.सी. की परीक्षा
सी.एम.एस. अलीगंज से 91 प्रतिशत अंक से उत्तीर्ण की एवं
वर्तमान में एच. आर. आॅफीसर हैं। सोनाली ने स्वयं वर्ष
2000 में 91.75 प्रतिशत अंको से सी.एम.एस. अलीगंज में
आई.एस.सी. परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की जबकि आई.सी.एस.ई. में इनके
88.4 प्रतिशत अंक थे। इसी तरह इनकी छोटी बहन नेहा गिरी ने
वर्ष 2002 में 93 प्रतिशत अंक से आई.एस.सी. पास किया और
आई.सी.एस.ई. में उनके 91.6 प्रतिशत अंक थे। आई.एस.सी. के
उपरान्त सोनाली ने एम.बी.ए. की डिग्री हासिल की जबकि छोटी
बहन नेहा गिरी ने इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियरिंग की परीक्षा पास
की है। वह इस वर्ष आई.ए.एस. परीक्षा की प्रतीक्षा सूची में
है।
प्रेस कान्ेन्स में
उपस्थित प्रख्यात शिक्षाविद् व सी.एम.एस. के संस्थापक श्री
जगदीश गाँधी ने सी0एम0एस0 के मेधावी छात्रों को हार्दिक
बधाई देते हुए कहा कि ऐसे ही होनहार छात्रों पर समाज को नई
ऊचाइयों पर पहुचाने की जिम्मेदारी है। श्री गाँधी
ने कहा कि इन छात्रों में वे सभी गुण विद्यमान है जो एक
सक्षम प्रशासनिक अधिकारी में होने चाहिए। मानवता की सेवा
करने की भावना इनमें कूट–कूट कर भरी है और यह जहां भी
जायेंगे विद्यालय का व हम सबका नाम रोशन करेंगे। श्री
गाँधी ने अजय गुप्ता, सोनाली व नेहा के माता–पिता को विशेष
रूप से बधाईयाँ देते हुए कहा कि सी0एम0एस0 के शिक्षक
वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् की भावना के अनुरूप बच्चों में विश्व
नागरिकता के गुणों को विकसित कर रहे हैं।सी0एम0एस0 का
प्रयास है कि प्रत्येक बच्चा धरती का प्रकाश व मानव जाति
का गौरव बने। सी0एम0एस0 के छात्र नित नये कीर्तिमान
स्थापित हुए मानवता के उच्च आदर्श का आलोक सारी दुनिया में
बिखेर रहे हैं। श्री गाँधी ने कहा कि इन छात्रों की
अभूतपूर्व सफलता से आज सारा सी.एम.एस. परिवार उत्साहित हैं
एवं सी.एम.एस. का प्रत्येक छात्र आज अपार गर्व का अनुभव कर
रहा है।
श्री गाँधी ने कहा कि हालाँकि
आज प्रेस कान्ेन्स में आई.ए.एस. में चयनित सी.एम.एस. छात्र
अजय गुप्ता उपस्थित नहीं हो पाये क्योंकि वे इस समय नागपुर
हैं, लेकिन अपने संदेश में उन्होंने कहा है कि ‘न
सिफर् मैं अपितु मेरा पूरा परिवार सी0एम0एस0 की फिलासफी
और वातावरण से बेहद प्रभावित हैं। सी0एम0एस0 फिलासफी
‘सर्वधर्म समभाव’ से मुझे प्ररेणा मिली है और मैं आई0ए0एस0
बना और इस फिलॉसफी को जीवन भर मैं अपने कर्म क्षेत्र में
अपनाऊँगा और पूरे समाज को एकता के सूत्र में पिरोने का
प्रयास करूँगा।’ अपनी सफलता का श्रेय अपनी माँ को
देते हुए अजय गुप्ता ने कहा है कि उन्होंने उसे हर समस्या
को चुनौती के रूप में स्वीकार कर, साहस व बुद्धिमत्ता से
उसे सुलझाते हुए आगे बढ़ने की प्रेरणा दी। उन्होंने कहा कि
मेरी माँ गाँव की हैं व ज्यादा पढ़ी लिखी नहीं है लेकिन
उनके दिल में तमन्ना थी कि मेरा बेटा अफसर बने और आज मैने
अपनी माँ की तमन्ना पूरी कर दी है। श्री गाँधी ने बताया कि
वर्ष 1997 में सी0एम0एस0 स्टेशन रोड शाखा से आई0एस0सी0 की
परीक्षा 76 प्रतिशत अंको से उत्तीण की थी। अजय गुप्ता ने
लगातार दूसरी बार आई.ए.एस. में सफलता अर्जित की है। विगत
वर्ष 2008 में भी अजय गुप्ता 104वीं रैंक के साथ आई.ए.एस.
में चयनित हुए थे किन्तु इस बार वर्ष 2009 वे 27वीं रैंक
के साथ चयनित हुए हैं। अपनी इस सफलता पर अजय गुप्ता ने
अपने सी0एम0एस0 स्टेशन रोड के शिक्षक श्री गौतम गुप्ता,
श्री वैश्य और राजीव रंजन को याद किया है।
सी0एम0एस0 के मुख्य जन–सम्पर्क
अधिकारी श्री हरि ओम शर्मा ने कहा कि सी0एम0एस0 के छात्र
नित नये कीर्तिमान गढ़ते हुए मानवता के उच्च आदर्श स्थापित
कर रहे हैं व सारी दुनिया में अपना आलोक बिखेर रहे हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि सी0एम0एस0 में आई0ए0एस0, इन्जीनियरिंग,
मेडिकल व अन्य व्यावसायिक सेवाओं की प्रवेश परीक्षाओं की
नि:शुल्क तैयारी कराई जाती है। इसी का परिणाम है कि
सी0एम0एस0 के छात्र भारी मात्रा में राष्ट्रीय व
अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर की प्रतियोगिताओं में सफलता अर्जित
कर विद्यालय का गौरव बढ़ा रहे हैं। श्री शर्मा ने
बताया कि आगामी 29 जून को एक भव्य समारोह में आई.ए.एस. में
चयनित इन मेधावी छात्रों की आदरणीय माताजी को फलों व फूलों
से तौलकर सार्वजनिक रूप से सम्मानित किया जायेगा।
